Lancaster area restaurants?

I've already been on trip advisor, but want additional input.

What is your favorite buffet/smorgasbord in the Lancaster area. We are looking at one for breakfast & a different one for lunch or dinner. We don't like "family style" where we share a big table with strangers. Thanks!

  • They are all good in Lancaster but....Shady Maple is the absolute BEST!!! Click here to view their menu and price list. You will not be disappointed. By the way, eat their on your birthday and it's FREE !!

Allow some time to visit the Goods store and the furniture store right their next to Shady Maple. Do some food shopping right there at the grocery store and be sure to go to the back of the store for some GREAT cookies, pies, cakes and breads. YUMMY !!!

You might enjoy the large "Goods Store" and also huge grocery market near by.

rd 896 N from 340 is a nice drive as is Hollander Rd from Intercourse.

    Enjoy!

Actually the Shady Maple is in East Earl. We never miss the chance to eat there when in the area.
  • For us, no trip to Lancaster is complete without a meal at the Shady Maple. ^
Comparing Miller's & Dienner's, Dienner's is a smaller buffet but in my opinion has more "local" food.
And our favorite bakery is Bird-in Hand Bakery, another must visit for us. http://www.bird-in-hand.com/places-to-eat/bird-in-hand-bakery/

  • PA. Has anyone tried Miller's or Dienner's for dinner? My hubby is talking their steak night tonight... Any favorite foods at any of these that are more "local" than baked ham etc.? Thanks!

  • When one mentions buffet/smorgasbord and Lancaster in the same sentence, it has to be referring to Penn Dutch cooking/ restaurants. Sorry, I have no recommendations, although we've been there/done that. It's all good. Enjoy.
