I will be going to a Men's Conference on Prospect Court in Rancho Cordova (Ca) in October and we have found the Loomis RV Park that looks to be the closest to that site...Anyone familiar with that park..?Thank you

Looked at Loomis RV....older/outdated park. Looked clean well maintained but didn't stay.Local told me about a MH Park in Citrus Heights that had RV spaces for rent.Ended up staying there for a few days late 2012. Very nice Imperial Manor

Loomis is on the other side of Sacramento from Rancho Cordova. To do freeway driving, you'll have to take I-80 west to I-5 south and then Hwy 50 east. That will take you through rush hour traffic jams no matter which direction you go. If you take non-freeway, you'll have to take Sunrise or Watt from 80 to 50 - and those get REAL backed up at rush hour times. It is about 30 minutes minimum from Loomis to Sacramento and another 20 minutes minimum to Rancho Cordova - that's with no traffic.I'd suggest finding one IN Sacramento - that way you're going against traffic for the most part.

Bamboo Tree RV Park is the closest to Rancho Cordova. I don't know anything about it. Other than that, you're looking at having to stay in the area north of downtown Sacramento and having to deal with the traffic I mentioned above OR go to the Elk Grove area. The Elk Grove area will require taking I-5 north to 50. You'll have a lot of traffic on I-5 in the morning and evening.

Sunrise Blvd is a PAIN in rush hour - either direction. The overpass over Hwy 50 gets completely congested and frozen at rush hour. It can take 15 minutes just to cross that. Watt Ave can be the same.I don't disagree about the RV parks in Sacramento, but that 18 miles is going to be a long 18 miles in stop and go traffic.Another option is the Placerville KOA in Shingle Springs. About 22 miles all freeway (but you will be traveling in the same direction as traffic).

We stayed in Loomis one time in 2006, will not go back. Stayed at Cal Expo last Jan., it was better than Loomis and it does have full hookups no cable TV, but got good TV OTA.

Either Loomis RV Park or Cal Expo will work in that case. I think depending on how you want to spend your Saturday evening will make the decision.

Cal Expo is just asphalt, but there are a lot of restaurants nearby, plus the Arden Fair Mall.

Loomis RV Park doesn't have a whole lot around it, but it appears to be prettier if you want to sit outside for the evening.

CalExpo has full hookups with free wi-fi. Current rate is $40 a night.

Cal Expo or Placer County fair grounds are your best bets,,,STAY AWAY from Imperial Manor MHP!! That has gotten to be a shady place,, Not safe!! I used to work near there!!

Is the conference just on Saturday? Friday evening, you'll have traffic going east on I-80, but that's not a big deal. My concern is that on weekdays, Hwy 50 is busy and clogs up Sunrise/Watt/Hazel really bad. Sundays can get clogged with folks coming down the hill from Tahoe.

If your conference is on Saturday only, then you should be OK.

Yes, the conference is only Saturday. Registration starts at 7:30, conference at 8-4:30, then home on Sunday.
I had thought of Cal Expo but the farther I stay from actual Sacramento, the better. And is Cal Expo just a parking lot with no hookups?

You might consider staying at CalExpo rv park. Easy access to Hwy 50. Although it is just an asphalt parking lot, it should be fairly cool in October.

I think I understand your answers....Pulling on a Friday evening into Loomis. Is that the issue? Because I am not at all worried about leaving the RV PARK at 7 Saturday morning to go to the conference. Google maps says roughly 32 minute trip down Hazel, an 18 mile trip...
