Louisiana recommend parks

We were in that area during storm Patricia. Fontainebleau State Park was the only one open the first night of our arrival. Tickaw was flooded and closed. We moved on to Palmetto Island SP and were immediately enthralled. What a nice park!!! Now we hit it at the end of Oct. Loved it. Toured the Tabasco plant on Avery Island and had a great time. In town of Abbeville is Shucks. Great place. At first I saw the outside and thought, Oh, another tourist trap with high prices and low quality food. Seeing that we were out of towners, the owner introduced himself and made meal suggestions. We are NOT spicy food eaters and told him that. He guided us to some of the best food we've had on a trip. Gotta go!!!
