louisville ky campground

looking for a good campground in Louisville Ky. for May 20, 21, 23. we have a 30 ft travel trailer with 2 slides and one small dog. My son and family are going also in a 26 ft and have to larger dogs. wish to be somewhat close to The Kentucky Exposition Center. thanks.
  • Clarksville, Indiana (KOA) Click here.

Here's when we stayed there. Sites are a little close, but if your gong to the convention center, you basically just need a place to park. We stayed there when we attended the Barry Manalow Concert last year which was just right across the bridge:

  • We also camped at this Louisville Metro KOA that Dutchmen Sport linked in the previous post. We were attended a conference at the convention center. The sites are very tight for slides and awnings but the location was perfect. While you are in Louisville don't miss a trip to one of the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen Shop. There are 10 in the area and the pie is delicious. We made a few trips and ate pie instead of dinner!
  • Grandma's RV park in Shepherdsville. They have strict pet rules though.
  • If your looking for a place with basic hookups, you might check with the fairgrounds in Louisville. I've used them when I have had Drs appointment at U of L.
I think they were $40-50 per night depending on hook ups.
  • a rare gem, try add more in clarksville, ind. it is about 10 miles north of the fairgrounds but very nice secluded park.
    HERE
  • My Old Kentucky Home State park in Bardstown about 35 miles south of the Fair Grounds on I65.
  • Last April, we stayed in the Louisville South, KY in shpherdsville, KY. It was about 20 minutes from the Louisville Expo center and was a straight shot up one main highway. Very easy to get to. Sites were nice size and hosts were very nice. We would stay there again if we were going through the area.
