Anyone know why the camp ground is closed after September 14th?

- There is a good alternative campground in the area. It is located a short drive away from the caverns. You even get a free ferry ride across the Green River.

You will want to stock up on groceries if you decide to camp there since services are a drive. - We were just there...I thought it was open until November 30. Houchin Ferry is closed for the season. Where did you hear it was closing in September?....Dennis
On edit...I just checked their website...for 2013 the season is May 26 to September 1. Probably cost cutting measures....Dennis
Mammoth Cave Season 2013 - Probably to save $. It's a pretty CG in the fall - that's when we were there.
