- katlemanExplorerBest to buy the pass at the gate of your first park of the year, rather than in advance since they are good for a year from date of purchase.
If timed right, it will be good for almost thirteen months, say if you buy it say the first of July, its good for the entire month of July the next year.
Only nine more annual passes until I get my lifetime pass at 62 :-) - ken56ExplorerThank you Jim for the link.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerHere's the information. If you're 62 or older, the pass is good for life and allows you and up to 3 others in your vehicle 15 yrs or older to enter with you.
The only place that's a little different is "Historic Jamestowne" vs. Jamestown Settlement. Both are worth seeing, but Jamestown Settlement is a re-creation and charges a separate fee, while Historic Jamestowne is the actual site where they landed and the Parks pass is good. - noe-placeExplorerAlways carry mine everywhere.

- DashonthedashExplorerUnlike the Colorado State Parks pass, the National Parks pass is assigned to the person, not the vehicle. You carry it with you, and it is good no matter what you are driving, and also covers passengers in the vehicle for any federal site that charges entrance fees by vehicle, or up to four adults for a site that charges per person.
- dbblsExplorerBuy one and carry it on your person.

If they work the same way as the senior pass, there's nothing vehicle specific about 'em.
X2. They are assigned to a person, not a vehicle.:) - naturistNomadIf they work the same way as the senior pass, there's nothing vehicle specific about 'em.
- I would just carry one with you in your wallet.
