- skilesExplorerFrisco Woods is pretty nice. They have full hook ups, pool, nice bath houses. Some sites are right on the sound. I'm not sure of prices.

How do you measure that?
They allow dogs to stay in some of their cabins.
They have a fenced in area to run your dogs.
They have a dog bathing area.
They have a large field on the sound side of the road in which dogs can be off leash, swim in the sound, etc. We really enjoy that, since dogs are not suppose to be off leash on the beach.

On edit: We travel with 4 dogs (currently 3 golden retrievers and 1 border line - make that border collie.) Our dogs compete in agility, among other things, and need to stay in shape.
Thanks for the response! - Wjohns02ExplorerThanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated. Looking forward to some summer trips.
- mdcampingExplorerYup, finding shade or trees out at the OBX is going to be tough, sticking straight out in the Atlantic ocean and being in the cross hairs of most storms & hurricanes
Mike - fj12ryderExplorer IIIWe stayed at Ocean Waves and thought it was the best of the choices in Rodanthe. All of the private campgrounds pack the campers in pretty tight. The KOA and Camp Hatteras almost looked like they used to be drive-in movie parking. No trees, no shade, gravel or sand roads/surfaces. But you go for the seashore, not the campgrounds. If/when we go back we'll stay at Ocean Waves again.
- DrbolaskyExplorerIt's been a while, but we used Camp Hatteras and liked it very much. Nice folks that run the place.

I'm also interested, but trying to find a low cost, low frills location. Are there any state park type? If there are I'd love to hear about them. Thank you
Oregon Inlet campground is a no hookup nice campground. There are flush toilets and showers. There is fresh water and a dump station available at no charge, at the marina.
