- Yea, he just may...
On my end going slightly south.. The Gov of DE has not said ANYTHING ... the restrictions that say no camping till My 15th have been in place since early March....
I hope he doesn't wait till May 14th change, I would like a chance to get into some private places in PA if I have to... Because me camping in my spot in the DE state park won't keep me safe.. - GDS-3950BHExplorer

I just heard this crazy news.... I have nothing... :h
We had that reservation in since last June, 14 nights arriving 5-17 leaving 5-31. Last night I was able to do the below.
Went online and canceled the 5-17 arrival reservation instead of waiting for the system to do it automatically per the email, which would of resulted in the entire ressie being gone and we had what is a Taj Mahal site, nicest FHU in the park. The downside is I ate $16.50 in fees that would of been refunded if the system canceled it. I then made another reservation immediatly as if let sit someone would of eventually jumped on it, arriving 5-22, which PAs system allowed, so we may salvage some of it. I am still betting in a week or so your wonderful all knowing governor moves the dates again all with the intent of keeping me safe, very very safe, so safe I may puke, which I truly appreciate. - Thank You...

I'm really interested in the Delaware State Park Campgrounds.... As of now, the parks themselves are open for certain things, while camping has been delayed till May 15.... for now....
FWIW, I received an email this morning from your PA DCNR that they have extended their closure of State Park Campgrounds from April 30 until May 8th. We have sites we booked 11 months out from May 17 through May 31 in PA at 3 different PA parks, so hoping that it doesn't move again, but from what I read your PA Governor is a flakejob also like the Gov in VA, and is very vague with any dates or timelines but lots of talk about regions and counties, testing and tracing, etc. Since the reservations are all on the Eastern Side of the state where it appears most of the cases are, we're not getting two excited about actually being able to use them. Good luck with DE.
Just received word that Private Campgrounds in PA will open This Friday, May 1st.. AND ALL STATE CAMPGROUNDS will open Thursday, May 14th
Thanks, I read that somewhere this morning, but riddle me this.
Your governor allows private campgrounds to reopen May 1 where the campsites are typically so close to each other that a lot of times your awning will rub the rig next to you, but your state park campgrounds will not open until 2 weeks later and from my experience the state park campsites for the most part are huge with plenty of room between them, which is why we enjoy it so much? Whatever, I quit trying to figure out the logic because they use none.
Your Governor must be a moron like Northam in VA, who is still adamant about keeping everything locked down until June 10th.
I cannot speak for Gov. Wolf in PA.. he is just unliked by many.... I'm guessing that he doesn't want to put state employees that close to the public??? I do not get it either :h
Delaware still says May 15, but unfortunately I would fully expect them to keep kicking the can down the road.
PA was 4-30, then 5-8, then 5-14, now no earlier than 5-22 which is the Friday of Memorial day weekend. I do not really expect them to open campgrounds for the typically crowded Memorial day weekend.
I received the below earlier this evening.
Dear Valued Customer,
Pennsylvania State Parks’ strives to provide a safe, high quality experience for our visitors. As new safety protocols are implemented, Pennsylvania State Parks is regretfully delaying the opening of campground and reservable day use facilities where you have your reservation, through and including the night of May 21st. All reservations arriving between May 15th and May 21st will be cancelled and fully refunded. Closures on May 22nd and beyond will be guided by the Commonwealth’s reopening plan.
Private Campgrounds are open, but State PArk campgrounds are not.
A County with 90 positive cases and 2 deaths can start reopening but one with 27 cases and 0 deaths can not. Your Governor is a fruitcake, as is your secretary of health, Richard, I mean Rachel, Levine.. - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

I'm still trying to figure out why the Ocala National Forest camping is closed until May 20. That county has little to no cases and there is very little development nearby.
It's the Feds in control. Below is the blanket statement being issued nationwide by the US Forest and National Park services.
"(Insert Entity) is following the White House’s guidance Opening Up America Again in developing a reopening plan. The park will implement phased reopening in accordance with this plan and guidance from public health officials and the Centers for Disease Control. There are no projected reopening dates for facilities or areas at this time."
Rulle of thumb is that for federal campsites, declaration of opening is by agency and by region.
State, county, regional and city parks will be based on local administration.
What’s peculiar is my reservation is May 16, 4 days before the Reopen and they didn’t cancel me.
We'll cross our fingers with you that they won't.
Enjoy and be safe!

Checked from the county website for a confirmation. None so far.
Besides, most of the campgrounds are National Forest. Again, this will be subject to Federal or Agency guidelines that according to their press release will be phased opening.
Wish us all luck! - Yosemite_Sam1ExplorerNational Forest Service announced gradual opening of campgrounds this summer.
So there goes our plans for the rest of spring. - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer
