- bfourmanExplorerShades SP is nice, but offers primitive camping only.
We love Turkey Run, but be advised to take a long extension for your shore cord. Some of the power poles are located quite a distance from the site, and some sites share pole locations, which usually isn't convenient for either site.
I can't share any firsthand knowledge about Raccoon Lake SRA, but we hope to camp there in 2015. - jnharleyExplorerThere is a fairly new campground just north of Rockville called Whispering Waterrs or Falling Waters (cannot remember the name). It is located right off US41 and only a short drive into Rockville. It is never crowded and some of the sites look good. They do have a website. We have property just down the road and I am not sure why anyone would want to go to Rockville since there is nothing there. The Covered Bridge Festival is just a big junk sale but it is a very popular junk sale though.
- kickstartExplorerDagin, don't know how long you plan to be in area, much to do canoeing
on sugar creek in Turkey run sp. If looking for good food the36 Saloon in downtown Rockville, Pappys for ribs in Brazil, Sunday brunch at Saint Mary Of The Woods collage in West Terre Haute while there visit the alpaca farm on campus, and don't forget to see the tree in the middle of the road in northern Vigo county. - dgalnExplorerThanks, DutchmenSport, for your input. I will not be there during the event, but I agree with you about the lake campground. I do appreciate the inputs from the locals. Thanks again.
- dgalnExplorerThank you, kickstart. Falling Rock cg sounds and looks interesting. I prefer country camping but with the comforts. Thanks again.
- kickstartExplorerI live so far north in Vigo county they gave me a Parke county address,
on state rd. 59 is falling rock campground full hookups close to Mansfield and Bridgeton and taking back roads not far from Rockville and
just north of Brazil on the hwy.
Go to visitors center in Rockville you can get maps to all the covered bridges just be careful tourism main industry, so not much money to fix county rds. - DutchmenSportExplorer

Thank you very much accsys. I had considered Covered Bridge RV Park if the state parks didn't have full hookups. Your blogs were very informative and your photos were excellent.
This campground is basically a place to park your camper. Yes, I think they do have full hook-ups. It's only a couple blocks from the down-town county building (court house), and this is the spot where the various vendors stay when any of the festivals are going on.
It's basically about a 2 or 3 acre area with tight spaces, very little space between parking spots, and right in town. Now, for ease of access, you couldn't ask for anything better, but it's not the kind of campground I'd stay at.
Rockville Lake is a county run campground - park. Although I've never stayed there, I've driven by many, many times. It's a nice place. Looking at their web site, looks like it's electric only with a dump station. It's located about 2 miles North of Rockville and I (personally) would much rather stay there with electric only than the one in town with full hook-up. Just my preference. And if you go during an event, you probably won't get into the one in town as it will be filled with concessionaires camping. - dgalnExplorerThank you very much accsys. - brireneExplorerAny of these mentioned would work for you, but since Rockville is the central location for all of the routes (there are several heading in different directions, all color coded) I would stay at Covered Bridge cg for convenience (walking distance to town) or Raccoon Lake for scenery.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerThere are KOA's in Crawfordsville and Terre Haute.
Rockville Lake Park in Rockville looks good.
