We just got home from 6 nights in NOLA I parked in the lot mentioned above every day except the one day we rode the Algiers Ferry over. And while I don't have a dually I do have a quad cab diesel 2500 with a camper shell. Here is the pricing for the lots mentioned. There is 2 lots to pick from you can decide at the entrance. They run parallel to the river. You can see the link if wanna look it up.



Just so you know the ferry is no longer free. It is 2 bucks cash per person exact change only. The lot you park on the Algiers side is $10.00 we heard there was street parking that is free but I didn't see it. For us it was $8.00 each way and $10.00 to park for a total of $26.00. The lot on NOLA side was cheaper and I felt safer in it.

We stayed here last May and it was expensive but worth it for the one night we stayed there. There is also a parking lot right across the street from this RV park. We felt safe walking to FQ during daytime hours.

Some beignets from Cafu Du Monde would be real good right now. It's been a while since I lived in NOLA but I recommend Deanies in Bucktown for good, reasonably priced seafood, not that it's hard to find good seafood in NOLA. I'm not sure where that RV Campground you mentioned is but Deanies is near the lakefront around the Metarie/Kenner line.

(NOTE: looks like they have one in the Quarter now. That was their slogan once upon a time because there was another restaurant playing off their name.

The OP said he is driving a dually. Those lots don't allow dually trucks.

There's plenty of parking in Algiers and the ferry ride is short plus you get a nice view of the city as you cross the river.

There is a nice big lot between Decatur and the Mississippi river. Its behind café Du Monde. The entrance is St.Peter and Decatur.The lot is centrally located in the quarter. Walking distance to every where. You can see it on Google maps.
