Reno, Nevada Campground

We are planning to go to Reno, Nevada to visit relatives. I have a 40' motor home pulling a car. Can you recommend a campground that can handle a 40' motor home? I would like to have FHU.
  • We spend a week or two in the Reno area every other year visiting relatives. We always stay at Sparks Marina. It is not our usual cup of tea but it is an outstanding facility. lizzie
  • If you are staying on the north end of Reno in the Cold Springs area, Bordertown is worth a look. Clean, concrete pads, full hook ups, gas and diesel on site, propane too. Also perks at the casino for folks in the RV park.
  • We used to live there and will only stay at the Grand Sierra's rv park. It's flat and has easy access. Gold Ranch is nice too. A lot of the parks there are very tight. Make sure you are not visiting Reno when one of their special events are going on, motorcycle rally, Hot August Nights, Rib Cookoff, balloon festival. All the parks are booked for those events.

Gold Ranch in Verdi a few miles west of Reno. They can easily handle the size of your coach. Very nice, easy on/off the interstate, casino and restaurant on site.

X2. Stayed their 4 nights in September, 2014. Easy to get to. Clean and well groomed. Will book our stay there if we ever return to Reno.
  • We liked River's Edge, spacious convenient with a nice walking trail along the river. It is directly under the final approach to the airport which didn't bother us and there were no night flights. Takeoffs would have been another matter.

  • We will be there for about a week or more. We will be coming from Michigan

How long you going to be in the area?

Agree Sparks Marina but depending on where you are coming from and where you are going there is another choice to consider.

Wanna be downtown or minutes away enjoying great views of the Sierra's? Your choice.

We love Gold Ranch and our home base is Reno.
  • Sparks Marina is the only place we stay in that area. Safe, quiet, close to shopping and food.
