RGV Rumors
What is not a rumor is that some parks are raising their rates to offset increased taxes.

To help pay for tax increases I'm starting a business targeting and/or catering to children. ...:C

If the rate is acceptable when I make my arrangements, that is all that matters. They could have raised it 1000 times that year and if I agreed with the price that doesn't bother me at all. And I never expect what I paid last year to be the price I pay this year. That is really unrealistic, since prices on just about everything rise yearly.

Raising the rates twice in one year and calling it because of taxes smacks of politics. Now if their property has been reappraised and it's true value is now taxed that is something else. You really should not call it a scam. Just call it what it is-"because we can and you will pay it."
bgum wrote:Just because the park tried to give a justification for raising the rates makes them some kind of scam artists? They have every right to raise the rates to whatever they want and frankly they don't have to tell anyone why. But many people do like to have some background on why rates are rising, and it appears the park is trying to give that information. But as they say, no good deed goes unpunished. I guess in your book the only answer that doesn't "play you for a sucker" would be "because we wanted to".
Sounds like they are playing you for a sucker. Next they will be claiming because of unrest in the Middle East. Suggest you find a new park.
