- LynnandCarolExplorerBuccaneer SP in Bay St. Louis, MS. Right on the gulf, casinos, fishing, great seafood restaraunts. Make reservations as soon as you can. There are other RV parks there also. Google is your friend!
- We like Buccaneer. It's been totally redone since Katrina. We spent some time in Mississippi this summer and we found that the state parks have a special if you are 65 or older or disabled. Regular FHU 50 amp sites were $20, with discount you pay $14. No special deals on the premium sites which are normally on water, etc., but they are also just $24. The ones we were at were all paved and the restrooms were very nice. At Sardis the restrooms were bad, but we were on a FHU site. No worries. A really good value.
Here is their website. Mississippi State Parks
Dale - HalmfamilyExplorerOur favorite places here is Alabama are Wind Creek SP, Oak Mountain SP and Desoto SP. Cheaha SP is a beautiful place to visit,, highest point in Alabama, but fhe campground is old and not well suited for large RVs.
- Limit4ExplorerIf not to far north take a look at PAUL B. Johnson state park, some full hookups and lots of places to walk alomg the lake. about 20 miles south of Hattiesburg Miss.
- GOTROExplorerLake Lincoln State Park in Brookhaven, Mississippi is beautiful!
- ljrNomadBuccaneer is one of my favorites too. Another is Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve. It's on Creek tribal land near Atmore, AL.
- TxTwoSomeExplorerCheck out Twitley Branch it is a COE park about 8 miles north of Meridian Miss. Some very good unique shopping not far away in Philadelphia. Was a nice clean park with plenty of wooded spots.
- magnusfideExplorer IIJust about any of the state parks will give you what you're looking for. Their rates are low too.
- Alabama_JimExplorerTake a look at Gunter Hill in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a Corp. of Engineers park on the Alabama River. The new side has long and wide concrete pads, water, sewer, electric. No cable, but antenna will pick up 5 or 6 local stations. Now Wifi. The campground is about 7 miles west of Montogomery.
