  • Well again to those who were actually helpful thank you. To those confused about how I assumed this was a forum on finding campgrounds please see the following statement from the head of this forum:
Welcome to our RV Forum, the Best source of RV news and information related to RVs, Campers, Camping, Motorhomes, Trailer, Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Campgrounds, National Parks and State Parks in North America.
Please excuse me for assuming camping and campgrounds might include campgrounds.
  • OK, well since this topic is still here and although we were not in our RV, the Senecca a Lake region of upstate New York is beautiful. Wadkins Glen State Park and the surrounding area of wineries/breweries was just wonderful! Plenty of wide open spaces and camping available.
  • We spent a few days at Meacham Lake State Park a few years ago. Beautiful lake and very secluded and peaceful as the only facility around the entire lake is the campground and day use area. We heard the Loons calling several times. The nearest town is Malone about 7 miles north.

It's just his grumpy way of saying that you posted in the wrong forum. This forum is for help with the web site and technical issues. There is another forum for "RV Parks, Campgrounds and Attractions."

No. I'm surprised your post hasn't been moved or closed by now. Do you know why I say that? Perhaps you'd tell me how you ended up in here. I've asked 10s of people and nobody will ever answer.
  • Places we've stayed and were out-of-the-way in the New York:

    Hickories Park Camping, Owego, NY
    Winding Hills Campground, Montgomery, NY
    Brookside Campgrounds, Catskill, NY

RVParky.com and AllStays work well, too.

What I would do is bring up GOOGLE MAPS and zoom in the area of New York you might be interested in. Then search for 'RV CAMP GROUNDs' All of the ones that show up will have a link to it so can see the camp grounds etc...

You can go to SAT VIEW mode on GOOGLE and get a real good idea how far back in the woods you might want to be in...
