- wbwoodExplorerStone mountain is awesome and getting harder and harder to get in and get certain sites. But all the sites are very big with paved pads. It is normal to have deer come through your site in the evening and morning time. During a certain time of the year there are many butterflies. My wife and daughter called it magical. To us, it beats out any park we have been to, both commercial and not. If you can't enjoy your stay there, you shouldn't be camping.
- mockybirdExplorerThey do show 40 or so TT sites with 50 amp service.
- northmeck0255ExplorerI will have to inform he DW. She steered me wrong. Still, check out New River SP. it's quite nice.

The only problem with Stone Mt SP during hot weather is the lack of 50amp power. That means we can't run both a/c's.
We otherwise love Stone Mt. Another really neat SP is New River SP up by Banner Elk. Much cooler due to the altitude, 50 amp power, plus plenty of fishing/rafting.
Ummm... stone Mountain has 50 AMP hookups. All electric sites have 30 and 50 amp hookups and is stated as 50 amp on their reservations page. Not sure where you got that information. - northmeck0255ExplorerThe only problem with Stone Mt SP during hot weather is the lack of 50amp power. That means we can't run both a/c's.

- wbwoodExplorerStone Mountain should be no further for you than Asheville. There are creeks there to play in with a sliding rock area. Waterfalls, hiking trails, plenty of paved road around the spacious campsites to bike around. Check out the photos below. The best part is the price of $25/night (including the reservation fee)

What area is home for you schrecker96 ? - schrecker96ExplorerThanks everyone. Have not made it to stone mountain yet. Right now July priorities are some what close to home and a decent pool. Probably go to the Asheville East KOA. Tight sights and train are overlooked because of the pool and activities. Especially the flat paved road for bikes.
- LumpyOatmealExplorerHi;
DW & I stayed there (3 nights)in early May. Would give it a 6 (of 10).
Clean, Friendly staff, nice pool, jumping pillow, Mini Golf, fishing pond. They did have quite a few long term/permanent tenants (but no blue tarps). Would stay there again.
