Summer trip to Missouri and Arkansas - advice/recommendation

Thanks everyone, keep the suggestions coming, please! At this point, I am ruling Eureka Springs out, sounds like much better places to go for what we like. Has anybody stayed at Table Rock State Park outside Branson? How about St. Charles, that looks like a nice town?
