Summer trip to Missouri and Arkansas - advice/recommendation

I actually live about 5 miles from Babler State Park. While it's a nice place, reservations can be tough during the summer. My first choice would be Lakeside RV park in St. Peters (St. Charles) which is run by the city. It's fairly new and very close to the freeways that will take you to other attractions. Most importantly it's nowhere near the "war zones", so it's safe.
