Thank you all for the replies so far, such great information here. I already picked a few of the places mentioned here and are amending our preliminary itinerary to include them, or at least research them further. Crater of Diamonds sounds like a perfect place for my daughter, she has been collecting rocks ever since she could walk, and the chance to find and keep a diamond, wow. Unfortunately it is further south and west than what we were planning and it is going to be tough to get all the great stuff in already. I am really excited that we decided on the MO/AR region for our trip this year. I still have to plan our stops in IN, KY, and WV to get us there and back, but those states will be other posts if I need help beyond what is already posted here.
