Pat, we are definitely not going to bother with photos (although I may set up my little waterproof camera to take an "interval movie" automatically). And we do have weather-dependent contingency plans.
But my number one area is so remote that we will have to commit to it a few days in advance, just to get ourselves situated in time. Then, on the day of the eclipse, we are planning to hike to a nearby mountaintop and hope for clear skies.
