The best RV Resort/campground on the East Coast?

Check out Castaways in Ocean City MD. Thay have a great beach on the bay paved roads very clean and friendly staff. Its abit pricey but top notch.

East Coast: Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, SC and Lake George RV Park in Lake George, NY. Both offer plenty to do in the area, plenty to do in the rv park, and both have top notch facilities and amenities.

Dale Hollow Resort in Kentucky or anywhere on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. Too many places to stay and fish to list.

I've got to agree on Salisbury Beach State Reservation they only offer water & electric but there's a honey wagon service offered....As demoon said $25 per night, 2 beaches, fishing, kayaking and only 40 minutes drive to southern ME attractions, can't go wrong with that price and those amenities any were.

Salisbury State Reservation in MA is a short walk to the ocean, is only about $25/night, W/E. Large park but tough to get into. Pre-memorial day might be a bit easier. You might want to check availability now. You Have to go through Reserve America, but it is easy.

Undefinable because what's "best" for another may not be "best" for you. Don't set yourself up for a let down. Take the suggestions and then decide for yourself but don't blame another if you don't like it.

My favorite is Bar Harbor KOA but it has it's down sides like small sites. I'm willing to put up with those because of it's location.

So... are you looking for a gorgeous "resort" that you can enjoy the amenities of without leaving it, or are you looking for a really nice campground in an area that is beautiful for touring? Of course, I know everyone wants both, but wondering if you have a preference.

I have not been to a top-of-the line RV resort, but the nicest resort/campground we've been to is Fort Wilderness in Disney World, Florida. The campground itself is great, and really not a ton of kids around because there is simply so much to do in Disney World. Wife and I are semi-planning a trip there in a few years, just us without the kids.

At the other end of the East Coast is Acadia National Park in Maine. The national park campgrounds are gorgeous, but no hookups and are really tight for getting big rigs in (I would call them not big rig accessible). I don't know the other private campgrounds in the Bar Harbor area or just outside it, but a couple are highly rated. Acadia is just gorgeous for exploring... and the way it is laid out, you can choose to do the energetic hiking thing, bicycling on the carriage roads, or drive a car to most of the lookout areas. It is really neat to go to the top of Cadillac Mountain to see the sunrise- each day, you can be the first people on the continental United States to see it.
