We spent the nights of Oct 5-6 there this year. IMO the campground is very nice and of course all of the facilities are new. Didn't check out the bathrooms as we use our onboard facilities. Sorry, no pictures of the campground. Nice and dark there, so the stars were great.
The downside for us was that RVs aren't allowed to drive further than the campground. Since we don't have a toad, that meant either taking the shuttle, which was running only hourly at the time, or riding our bikes. After riding the bikes down the extremely steep gravel trail to get to the road, we decided that we didn't want to make the entire 8 mile loop to Schoodic Point and then back up another steep grade to the campground at the end. The loop road past the campground is one way, including bikes, so we were afraid to commit to a ride we might regret. Next year the shuttle is supposed to run half hourly, which would be much better.
Really nice campground, but I doubt we will go back. The main portion of Acadia on Mt. Desert Island is much more RV friendly and we had a great time there.
Once you get out on the Loop Road you'll find it mostly level and very smooth, with plenty of scenic turnouts. One of the things we love about our Roadtrek is our ability to access drives like that! And once you get around to Prospect Harbor you'll find a delightful little restaurant named The Pickled Wrinkle. (wrinkle is the local name for whelk). Some maps name it the Nautica Pub, but it changed a couple of years ago. The reviews found in Yelp rate it very highly, as do we. The fried scallops are the best anywhere! - Steve_B_ExplorerIt sounds like it's what I was hoping for. I've been to Acadia many times and camped at Blackwoods. I prefer the slower pace over at Schoodic and the scenery is great. Looking forward to several days there and moving up to Cobscook Bay State Park.

Fee (per site, per night): $22 walk-in tent sites, $30 drive up tent/small RV, $36 RV with electric only sites, $40 RV with electric and water. Discounts available for Senior and Access pass holders. - Joyce_in_NYExplorerWe ended up staying elsewhere because it is so far from the other side of the park. We rode carriage trails, hiked a little, kayaked, etc. and wanted to be closer.
- cdbinnsExplorerWe haven't camped there, but we live very close by and have hiked some of the new paths and have driven through the campground. The facilities are very nice. Many of the sites have power and water. I think there may be some full hookup sites as well. The park was first come, first served this fall, but when they reopen next year sites will be reservable. It was pretty busy in September even though it had just opened, so I suspect reservations will be a very good idea for next summer.
