What we are willing to pay depends on numerous factors. At our summer base where we get the same site every summer for 3 months it is $325 a month for full hook ups, that is around $10.80 per day. It is a old park, clean, but no pool or anything else. So it is priced good.
In California last year we spent close to $80 a night for a couple nights at a dump. But it was close to the Tetons and Jackson Hole and we wanted to be able to see some sights. So we were willing to pay for that location.
While going across country we try to keep nightly fees down in the $35 per night range for full hook-ups. It is getting harder and harder to do.
Two years ago we averaged right at $6,000 for 365 days/nights of camping, or about $16.00 per day.
