Thanks for all the replies so far. I was just curious as to what is the "tipping point" for others - i.e. when you'd just say "that's too much" and go elsewhere or stay in a hotel.
I like the 35-50% cost comparative to the price of a hotel. And the term "mooch docking" is now in my vocabulary, thanks for that. :)
A couple years ago, $30 was my upper limit, now it's around $40. There are some state parks that are approaching $50 a night.
The reason I asked is that it seems there are more and more campgrounds charging $50 or more per night.
And these aren't Disney or The Keys or near a major attraction. We all expect those cg's are in high demand and will be priced accordingly.
And, no, I don't think cg owners are greedy. Maybe they've just added so many amenities (pools, bounce pillows, playgrounds, cable or other stuff I, personally, don't need, want or use), that they NEED to charge that much to make a decent living?
I just wondered how others felt about it.
