An update on the new gorgeous CG they are building on the east side of Grand Haven, Michigan on the wide very navigable well bouyed Grand River with having plenty of depth for even a 60' yacht as I'd talked to the site contractor manager on thursday who'd showed me the site plan:
152 FHU 50A concrete pad sites including a large patio area, all are 60-70 deep and very level and new. 68 sites are directly on the waterfront with the other's being just behind them. The CG is triangle shaped with the very long side (.4 miles) on the river. No swamp! Cable and excellent WIFI. Grand Haven was the first city in the USA to have full citywide WIFI and the second in the world. Google it!
Each site width is 25-35 feet wide and will be landscaped with small trees and vegetation.
Are putting in 28 docks capable of berthing up ot a 35' long boat along the river for RV'ers only to use. You can cruise up the Grand River for over 20 miles going upstream and there's 13 navigable Bayou's to explore, many are several miles long and full of fish. Going downstream the river is deep as big ships 800' long come and go and takes you to Lake Michigan where you can circum-navigate the entire world from as the waterway system goes all the way to the Alantic Ocean via the St. Lawrence river/waterway. Or go down to New York City by going south thru Lake Champlain, Hudson River, or the Erie Canal. Also can go south the the Gulf of Mexico thru Chicago and then via the Illinois River, Mississippi River or the Tom Bigby Waterway. That's not all as going north into Spring Lake less than a mile from the CG you can boat or fish the clean deep lake or it's 7 bayous on it's 7 mile length.
Yes, amenities galore including a very nice pool, centrally located new fine bathhouse that includes an indoor clubhouse for camper's use, a playground for kids.
Walking 2 blocks brings you to 3 restaurants and a decent bar and other businesses all secluded from the CG. One of the restaurants is Fricano's Pizza which is world famous and been there for 66 years now. One of only 32 pizza places in the world in the hall of fame. Outstanding! Eat in or take out and their recipe hasn't changed a bit since 1949. Make all their ingrediants from scratck themselves or have them made to their order. Nothing's ever been frozen as it's fresh. Seats 225 inside. Beer, wine, amd mixed drinks.
Fantastic views looking north right from your RV or patio over the river as it's nearly a mile wide with 3 individual navigable legs with islands and lots of boats going by. 13 marinas closeby to serve you and a couple are gigantic. Thousands of pleasure boats are moored in marinas here as it's a boating and fishing utopia. Then there's the fabulous huge pure sand public beaches and the pure sand clean lake bottom. So much can be seen on Google Maps and you cne see where the new CG is being built.
He didn't know exactly what the CG site daily fees will be but said they will be competitive with the others in the area as he's been told. It's our 13th CG in the local area so they have competition. That means not being like the $50-$60-$70-$80 etc a night fee mentioned in this thread but having even more true amenities and area wide things to do and see!
What does this do to the RV'ers price point?
