I don't think I have ever used the words "favorite" and "Interstate 5" in the same sentence, and I doubt I ever will again! ;)
X2 HA! Isn't that the truth.

Durango RV Park in Red Bluff highly recommended.
Once you leave the mountains north of Redding, there really is very little attraction along I-5 until you get down into the Sacramento area.
X2 on Durango!! It is a real nice place to stay. Wide paved pads nicely landscaped with a great pool and club house. There is also an old Chinese Restaurant on Main Street in downtown which is really good. - NinerBikesExplorer

Quoted, for truth. Lousy place to ever have to pull a TT at 55 MPH, the way everyone is in such a dog gone hurry. - Ed_GeeExplorer II

It's just over the border, but the park in Phoenix, Oregon is lovely!
Which park in Phoenix? The Holiday RV park on the west side which is acceptable but nothing to rave about, or the Pear Tree RV Park on the east side along side the very noisy Interstate 5? ?? - aerbus32Explorer IIWith family in Redding, what I'm looking for, is a good park close to their residence. That's Premier RV. Stayed at Mountain Gate once to be closer to Lake Shasta. Nice park. Keep intending to try JGW, but it is about 30 mins to the relatives. Durango in Red Bluff is very nice, but there's not much to do in the area. (If you stay there, the pizza place you drive by accessing the park is excellent!) Rolling Hills is great for a quick overnighter, but once again, not much to do in the area. We came across a very, very nice facility just south of the Oregon border last fall. Blue Heron RV. Beautiful park about 8 miles off 5 on the Klamath River. Pull-in sites for Class A coaches. Towables use sites that are not water front, but are still excellent. Had wild horses come down for water every night.

We prefer to stay off I-5 south from Redding but north and through to southern Oregon I-5 is pretty nice, IMHO. - profdant139Explorer III don't think I have ever used the words "favorite" and "Interstate 5" in the same sentence, and I doubt I ever will again! ;)
