  • To answer your question, the most "premier" rv resort in Bakersfield is the Bakersfield RV Resort located on Wible road between Panama and White Lane.

Of course, I'm sure you realize that I-5 does not go through Bakersfield, so you either have to come in from the North on Hwy 99 or from the South on hwy 99. In either case you need to take the White Lane exit. If you are coming on the 99 from the north, there are two right turn lanes on the exit...get in the left one as you need to turn left at the next light...it comes up very quickly. Turn right on White lane and get in the left lane ASAP. Turn left on Wible Road. The RV resort is about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile and will be on your right.

If you are coming from the other direction (like from LA) on Hwy 99, just take the White Lane exit and turn left and go over the overpass. Then turn left at the next light (Wible Road).

If coming from LA, you can take Panama Lane exit and go left on Panama (over the overpass) to the first light which will be Wible Road. Turn right on Wible and the resort will be on your left. Coming from the north (like from Fresno) you can take the Panama exit, go right on Panama and then take the first right on Wible Road.

However, I don't recommend this route simply because to turn left into the resort, there is a difficult left turn lane that has curbs on both sides and isn't really made for large RVs and more than likely you will jump the curb with your toad. I just noticed that you have a Class C...so this route to the park may be you best bet.

There is a Camping World almost directly across the street. Restaurants in that area are pretty scarce. If interested, I can give you more specific directions.

The only other rv park we would stay at would be the Orange Grove park located outside of the city on Hwy 58...but it's quite a ways off of I-5.

Good luck and hope this helps
