X2 - profdant139Explorer IIThe road between Kings Canyon and Sequoia might not be open yet -- lots of snow! The same is true of the road between Grant Grove and Cedar Grove. Check with the parks before you arrive.
Given the amount of snow and the size of your rig, I would stay in Three Rivers and then use your toad to get up to the Lodgepole/Giant Forest area. Bring layers of warm clothing when you are hiking up in the big trees -- it can get cold, or it could be warm and sunny.
If you have time, take the short hike from Lodgepole to Tokopah Falls -- spectacular.
If the road to Cedar Grove is open, you could take 180 and stay in Azalea at Grant Grove and then take the toad down to Cedar Grove. It is a great drive, and the falls in the canyon will be going crazy this year. - Bob___AnnExplorer

X2 - TenOCNomadIf we do the 180/198 Wilsonia and Three Rivers (north) loop should we also do the southern loop Springville to Kernville loop?
Can a big rig do the Southern Loop? - Mark_and_LindaExplorerLook at the Kings Canyon side also...the curvy road is from the Three Rivers' side. I grew up in the valley...so we always went up through through Three Rivers and come back down 180 through the park. Enjoy...pretty country. Lots of the trees have died up there.

- Two_HandsExplorerWe stay at Three Rivers at the south entrance to the park. We like Kaweah RV Resort, but there are two or three others nearby.
