Just so you know, that the road in Burlington is VERY small and VERY curvy and not easy to back in to spots....
AMEN!
that's why i posted the warning.
my HTT is 24' long, tongue to bumper, and i had to be really careful driving around the CG.
and there were not many campsites that we could fit in or back into. - WavespriteExplorer IIJust so you know, that the road in Burlington is VERY small and VERY curvy and not easy to back in to spots....
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerWe stayed in Crescent City CA at the KOA. We took the Howland Hills scenic drive (don't miss it!). Google it. Then we moved to Redcrest to Ancient Redwoods RV park. Love it!! You can walk to some of the redwoods. https://www.nps.gov/redw/planyourvisit/drives.htm

If you really want to be in the Redwoods with hiking and a great visitors center I would go to Burlington Camp Ground,no hookups but right in the Redwoods and on the Avenue Of The Giants The picture in my signature is from there.
just a warning, Burlington is very tight and a challenge to drive through the campground.
many sites aren't big enough for larger RVs. - ParkCountryExplorerThanks to all of you for your suggestions. I had no idea of the other campgrounds you mentioned. What a great place this forum is!

We found the Ancient Redwoods RV Park to be a very good base for all things redwoods. It is located right on the Avenue of the Giants just north of Redcrest with full hookups and a very nice redwood gift shop.
Agree with that, nice place and the folks in the gift shop are really friendly. But it is a big parking lot.

If you want hookups I would suggest Giant Redwoods still in the Redwoods and on the Eel River about a mile from Burlington and the visitor center,a must see. - profdant139Explorer IIIf you don't need hookups and can get a space, Elk Meadows at Prairie Creek would be my choice. If you want hookups, we like Kamp Klamath -- but not everyone does. It is kind of funky. Very well located. Look it up on rvparkreviews.com.
- gme3470ExplorerX2 on the Ancient Redwoods park. Very clean and centrally located.
- Mr__CamperExplorerHiouchi RV is just east of Crescent City. Haven't been there in a few years but was a great location for walking among the redwoods.
