- kalynzooExplorerOK, it's not a State Park campground. We recently enjoyed our stay at Benbow Valley KOA. It used to be Benbow Valley RV Resort and recently went KOA. Lovely, centrally located campground with full amenities. Just north of Willits in Gerberville it is central to the Redwoods. There is an adjoining golf course, if your into that, and across the way, a short walk, is the historic Benbow Valley Inn with an excellent restaurant.
Enjoy and Happy Trails - Two_HandsExplorerIn the past we have stayed in the campground at Prairie Creek State Park. We are a little too big for the sites now, but you should be fine. No hookups, but a great campground.
- korbeExplorerThe state parks are great but without hookups. Jedediah state park in the north, Prairie Creek centrally located and Humboldt Redwoods to the south.
- accsysExplorerWe found the Ancient Redwoods RV Park to be a very good base for all things redwoods. It is located right on the Avenue of the Giants just north of Redcrest with full hookups and a very nice redwood gift shop.
- Mr__CamperExplorerHiouchi RV is just east of Crescent City. Haven't been there in a few years but was a great location for walking among the redwoods.
- gme3470ExplorerX2 on the Ancient Redwoods park. Very clean and centrally located.
- profdant139Explorer IIIf you don't need hookups and can get a space, Elk Meadows at Prairie Creek would be my choice. If you want hookups, we like Kamp Klamath -- but not everyone does. It is kind of funky. Very well located. Look it up on rvparkreviews.com.

Agree with that, nice place and the folks in the gift shop are really friendly. But it is a big parking lot.
If you really want to be in the Redwoods with hiking and a great visitors center I would go to Burlington Camp Ground,no hookups but right in the Redwoods and on the Avenue Of The Giants The picture in my signature is from there.
If you want hookups I would suggest Giant Redwoods still in the Redwoods and on the Eel River about a mile from Burlington and the visitor center,a must see. - ParkCountryExplorerThanks to all of you for your suggestions. I had no idea of the other campgrounds you mentioned. What a great place this forum is!

just a warning, Burlington is very tight and a challenge to drive through the campground.
many sites aren't big enough for larger RVs.
