Sad

Could not login with my YC 1 profile. The space has left me out of the new forum.

I finally gave up and set up a new profile. I know things are tough when in transition but someone must have known that old old users like me might have spaces in their logins.

All those years of helping folks and getting help seem to be lost.

I cannot believe they think this is an improvement so far.

Perhaps its just me getting old. They are losing a tremendous amount of stored knowledge for sure.

  • DEDMISTON!!!!!!!!  I feel like I just woke up in one of those strange weird movies and don't recognize anything or anyone!  Then somehow by chance I find your name!!  Still a little foggy but hopefully I can find my way around to find some more familiar faces.  Not sure what to think....still so new and surreal.  Hope you're doing well!!

I bet your are getting a bit beat up. They can't take your birthday away in any case. Hang in there as we oldies get back up to speed.

Thank you for sharing the link to his profile. We know his profile has been migrated over I just want to make sure that he has access to his profile.

      Thank you for your help!

I noticed he is back replying to posts on his old ID. I welcomed him back on his first reply. So far he ignored my reply.  😊

I notice your new posts did end up here under your old ID.

Please give me a "Solved" on my reply with the link, if that option shows up there. Maybe here too. 🤔

I do not know how to do this. I looked around but am still stumbling. So I may end up with a "solved" for this question too. That's ok. My stumbling may help others.

  • As I said in my recent post members can find their previous post and replies in RV.NET by typing in Google Search Box their old RV.NET profile name just before RV.NET.  Here is an example Dustoff 70RV.NET and most times their old post will appear in this new forum.  Same goes for subject/topics post and replies such as looking for Solar Generator RV.NET.  Click on any of the entries and you will find more of your post/replies. Can also easily find topics in this forum by typing your new handle before RV.Net and you get your entries.  Works for me but I also chose to create new profile handle/name that I like better.

There's a feature in Google search where you can add "site:[website_name]" to the start of your search to limit the search to that site, like "site:rv.net".

      Example:

      site:rv.net solar generator

      returns these results .

Your link does pull up post & replies. It finds what they have transferred here so far. It does not find any of the older archived posts & replies.

The problem may be that the GS mainframe computer is a newer version than the old RV.Net mainframe computer. It may not be able to read the old, archived files. It may be a long time, if ever, for getting the older files.

The space in your username was converted to an underscore. If your name was YC 1, then your new name is YC_1.

Let me know if you still have trouble logging in.

I appreciate your quick response. You might want to look at the new profile I used to get back onto the site. I used YC1 with no space. That profile can be deleted, assuming all YC_1 information has been moved over. I suspect you are getting pelted at this time but I want to say thank you for your help. I was a moderator on another forum for  a short while and it was not my cup of tea for sure. I must admit I'm struggling a bit with the new layout but am sure the improvements will help getting back into helping on this site. It was just too difficult to post pictures and attachments on the old site that I rarely posted. Hang in there.

Here is a link to your "YC_1" posts and replies. They are here under your old ID.
