I also had a WFCO converter. It never went above 13.6 volts even when the battery was intentionally run low to check the converter output. I replaced the WFCO with a Progressive Dynamics 4135. I know that it is only 35 total amps but at least it does kick out 14.4 volts. I checked when I installed it with my voltmeter. My WFCO was brand new and rather than use the warranty to get another jucker, I spent the money on something I believe will be working for years.
I tried running the PD4135 with my Champion 2000i generator and my volt meter showed a good charge getting to the battery.
