I want to install a dish soap dispenser and need to drill a 1" hole thru the counter top. I have the location picked out,plenty of clearance, but just to scared to do it. Anyone have any tips, tricks ...

Drill a small pilot hole - smaller than the center drill on the hole saw - as a guide before you go with the hole saw.
