Dang it, sorry. I had in my mind you were replacing a WFCO.
Elixir Elx-45 I don't know much about. Maybe you do want to replace the entire panel. I would still be inclined to just mount the new converter behind and pull wire in.
Of course PD makes a panel such as PD4045 & PD4060 that may work.
But then you need to match the full opening, cut it larger, or add trim to make smaller.
