Can I put my own sofa in a fifth wheel?

Take a look at this double recliner seating. De Leon double recliner. It is several inches shorter front to back when in upright position compared to other similar seating. It's the only one I've seen that will fit in the same depth as an RV sofa. And because it's RV seating, you can get it through the door.

We were looking at theater seating for our KZ but went with a factory hide-a-bed instead as the bed seemed more comfortable plus it can sleep more bodies than the standard sofa if we get company.

cleared out all fifth wheel furniture replacing it with our own Lazyboy rocker and small sofa.

Does anyone know how to change a queen to a king size bed? Our bedroom slide was designed for the queen.

Any ideas would be truly appreciated.

I just purchased a LAZY BOY sofa sleeper and the rear window will be coming out to install due to length at 86" but worth doing due to larger size and quality

The hide-a-bed sofa that came in our used 5er was not very comfortable as a sofa and was a torture device as a bed. As well the previous owners had a dog that slept on it making it stink like a wet dog. We thought about 2 recliners but nixed that due to cost and available space. As well, we wanted a small bed for a guest to sleep on.

London Drugs had a futon bed on sale for $99 and we thought what the heck, we'd give it a try. I had to dismantle the old sofa to get it out the door but the futon came in no problem and fit perfectly. I was pleasantly suprised how comfortable it was as a sofa and not bad as a single bed either. It has lots of padding and evan the pleather covering feels good. It takes up less space and there is room under and behind it for storage.

We replaced our "lazy Boy" recliners with theater seating from Ashley Furniture. It is their durablend line & comes apart in 3 sections. It used to be offered in the Columbus 5ers (They recently switched to a different style).

I got tired of moving the recliners. We don't have to touch the theater seating because it is a wall hugger. Like someone else mentioned, why are the "RV" Lazy Boys so much heavier than the Lazy Boys bought for our S&B?

Of course your home furniture is probably going to be much heavier than the RV furniture. There is always issues haha...

Along this line I guess you have noticed the RV Style BEDS are not the same size as the regular home style beds. The King Size and Queen size beds are smaller making you have to buy special size sheets and covers. I ran into this when I wanted to add FOAM TOPPERS...

The space under my sofa is taken up by an outside storage cabinet that projects about 8" above the floor. I would loose a lot of storage space if I replaced my sofa. Wouldn't work for me.

We replaced our sleeper sofa with a leather double power recliner (like theater seating but without the cupholder divider). We bought it at Macy's. The backs came off and it was a snap to put in. It is incredibly comfortable and long enough for me (5' 5") to take a nap on. My clever hubby built narrow side tables which are just wide enough for a book and a cup of coffee.

As Gedtrailer said above, it depends. In my 5er, the fresh water tank was installed under the (very uncomfortable) couch. The couch was not a full piece of furniture, the couch part was mounted on a set of 2X4 stands at the end with an upholstered piece of hardboard as the front panel.

If you're looking used, you will have to inspect every coach to determine if you can easily remove the existing unit. If you can, then you can find a couch that will fit, or have one made to fit.
