change out apollo microwave OTR oven

You used to be able to find an Apollo Half Time Oven at Walmart online but I just checked and it was no longer there.

my oven is mounted inside a housing unit made by apollo that holds the exhaust fan and the light with venting on the sides and top. so did you just take the oven out and slide Kenmore into the Apollo housing. No one sell these ovens anymore. I called Apollo, all they could do is to send me the insides, for $400.00. I would need to install them myself of course they would send instructions.

Mine is the over the range model. Has the range hood light and fan built-in and is connect to wall and the ceiling. I dont know how to post a picture in forum.

We have an Apollo 1/2 Time Oven in our B+, it is a pain since it draws just under 18 amps according to my AmWatt Meter. It pops breakers if the AC, any auxiliary electric heat, the CAMCO electric water heater conversion element or hair tools are on at the same time. The Sharp convection/microwave in our Phaeton draws less than 8 amps and causes few problems.

Answer is yes but my microwave was located under the propane burners. Where's yours?

@king yankee, If I'm understanding you correctly, you removed just the oven from the housing that is mounted to the wall and ceiling, and mounted the new microwave inside the old apllio housing

I ended up removing the front trim plate, as stated above I removed the microwave and plastic base, turned the base over and was able to find a microwave oven from Sears that is the exact fit for the trim opening. I may not have an oven now but I don't have issues with it now either. Microwave works great and with a turn table. It was really easy to do over. It was finding a microwave that fits. Thanks sljkansas I will give them a call. From what I have heard the company does not make this oven or the parts for them. I did call Apollo and they said they would send me new insides but I would need to install them myself I had so many problems with this oven I would like to replace it.

@edatlanta, there is not a cabinet above this oven and no access to the top of the oven. There is small openings at the top of the oven and I can see the four bolts holding the oven to the ceiling, But I have to take the microwave unit out of the housing to get to them...I guess that's how it's done. I cannot find an 24in over the range microwave/convection oven all are over 29+ inches wide. There are 24" microwaves I can use but they lack a light an exhaust fan, so I will need to install a range hood also. My dilemma is how to secure the top of the oven and if the new wall mounts can be installed to any area of the wall and how access the top of the microwave.

I have one in my Big Horn. To remove it you take the plastic front bezel off the front of the Apollo, there is 4 screws. There is a plastic base under the Apollo, just lift the oven up and out of the cabinet.

There is a Company that repaired them, you will need to go the the Heartland RV website to get the name of the Co.
