APOLLO MICROWAVE

We purchased a 2008 Montana 5th wheel equipped with the Apollo Convection/Microwave. In 2013 it quit working so we ordered another one as we HAD been happy and found it to an easy retrofit. We were told how the model has been improved!!! We received it about a month later, only to find, after installing it, that it did not have a timer button, nor did have a power level button either. I wrote the company with 9 faults, including the two mentioned above along with the clock looses 1 minute everyday, finish on the plastic frame is a mess, looks like it has a film on it, convection oven overheats and shuts off, the baked potato button does not cook properly, and I am sure due to the clock not working properly. In addition, to adjust the power level now with the "NEW AND IMPROVED MODEL" you have have to got thru robin hoods barn to get to the power level adjustment and then they say you can use this to go to "0" power and use it as a timer. Well, let me tell you that when I put in "0" the inside of the microwave was so hot it boiled water. I tested my at home micro and of course there was no heat in the micro. I believe that is product should be earmarked as dangerous and taken off the market. I hope some one out there will respond and tell me there story. Thank you
  • We had one of these 1/2 time ovens and they are junk. That said, they were good about sending me parts to repair various issues (very difficult to work on as you have to completely disassemble to do most anything to....including a simple bulb change!!!). They were so common that they knew what fixed each and every concern. I had our's out 6 times in 2 years. Got pretty good at it. The biggest problem was that this oven was like 30" wide and not a common width and the oven is too small and overheated the electronics failed a lot. Last I checked LG only had a microwave (no convection) that would fit in the area that the Apollo did. We didn't have the luxury of being able to do a cabinet mod for a conventional unit to work. What a piece of junk. Sorry for all the bad news. Just my thoughts and experience. rockin'
  • Junk is correct, I took mine out and put in a shelf with a good microwave.
  • Lots of stories about how bad those apolo half time ovens were. Most people have junked them by now and replaced them with a real microwave oven. I suggest you do the same ASAP.
