  • X10 makes a lot of devices like that and more. Everything I got from them has work well including a remote device like mentioned. Best thing is it is not from Fleabay.:)

  • We got ours at the local home improvement store - also cheap. We use it to turn on/off the lights in our awning tube. Before that we used it to turn the outside light on at the house so we didn't have to go out into the garage to do it.
  • I bought a set of THESE 120 volt remotes a few years ago for my Christmas lights. Now, I take them along in the RV and use for outside lights and stuff I don't want to get up to turn on/off. They won't work for in wall lights, but will work for anything that plugs in. Pretty much waterproof. We use them for outside Christmas lights, and my DW uses it for a water fountain on our deck.

Ah, some people are disabled... Other than that, I agree that getting out of the chair and walking a few feet couple times a day is not that difficult and is actually useful, according to doctors :)...

I tried that exact one. Remotes a POS, lasted about 2 weeks.

What failed on yours ? Mines going on 3 years and still working fine , my metal antenna did break off but works great with out it , with the metal antenna it had a range of about 60 feet , without the antenna it now has a range of about 20 feet , I can't deny its a cheap remote but for $11.99 I think it is amazing as it funtions good and buttons work good.

I too found having a remote device works out pretty good for us as well...

Mainly the lights is where our remote comes into play...

This remote was picked up at the local AMES store ($20)..

This is for 120VAC but works great with the INVERTER setup when camping off the power grid... I actually have two of these units for the inside table 120VAC lights setup and the other one for the outside 120VAC patio lights setups... We are not big fans for 12VDC appliances and things. Most everything in our trailer is 120VAC. What is 12VDC is direct connected to the 12VDC power distribution panel. Any 120VAC Home entertainment systems, table lights, etc we need to operate is powered by the added INVERTER setup when camping off the power grids.

I like having ON-OFF controls for some of these items from the bed area...

Of course anything you have for 120VAC can be controlled with this remote unit by just plugging into to it...

    Rather handy to have around...

  • mobileempire you need to get yourself a wife, although at $11.99, that might be the better buy
