You;re welcome. We're all in this together, I know little about some things, too. I'll be calling my AC guy, this Spring, to replace my condenser. Even though I know how to solder and which unit I need, he always has a trick or two that makes the job easier or less $$$.
Thanks for replying on this one west end. I always appreciate the opinion of a trades person. I just don't deal with some things enough, so it helps to hear from those with experience.

About paint: one of the ironies about painting is that prep is 80% of the work and there's usual an amount to deal with, either cleaning the surface, deglossing, masking, or priming (sometimes all of the above). After all of the work involved, a lot of folks choose to buy the cheapest paint they can find. This sometimes recuires two coats of paint or the finish coat does not have any endurance. In any event, choosing paint by price is a losing proposition. Aim for the best you can get.

I would cuestion any review that has Behr brand listed as "recommended". I paint for a living any won't use any Behr or Glidden paints.
If the ceiling is discolored or stained, an oil paint is a good choice. Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo is an excellent topcoat oil paint. I use a lot of Sherwin-Williams paints, including their Industrial line of goods. They are also a top cuality paint.
X2. I used to paint residential and commercial for a living years ago and even then our quality jobs were done with Benjamin Moore oil paints. Just be careful if you are going over latex-that could be a problem. - DaHoseExplorerThanks for replying on this one west end. I always appreciate the opinion of a trades person. They said it was on par with Behr premium and was a recommended buy!
Good luck
Bill - ScottGNomadI used to sell it when it was just ACE brand paint. It was fairly good, made in the USA of real paint components and not just clay and other cheap fillers like some lesser brands are.
It's good but not as good as Benjamin Moore, which was our ACE stores premium brand.
