Mine was clear as well and a vacation to Myrtle Beach in July was all it to get me to do something. I cleaned mine on the top really well and taped off the roof and sprayed it with 3 coats of Krylon Gloss White paint. It still lets light in but keeps the heat out.
Question? Did you allow the coats of paint dry before spraying on the next coat?
Yes I did. But like has already been stated, I found something else to do while up there. I took a couple of tubes of sealant up there with me and went around and inspected and resealed the areas around my vents, antenna and end caps. Really doesn't take all that long to do. Just remember to spray the dome in opposing patterns. If you spray left to rigth, next coat should be up and down(or move 90* and spray left to right) or it will really show up the spray pattern when the light hits it! That's how I learned how many coats it takes!:B
