disposable glove container

I recently attached a .50 Cal. steel ammo box to the end of my bumper on my fifth wheel. Inside I put 2 small plastic coffee cans, paper towels, and hand sanitizer. One coffee can has new disposable gloves and the other is to be used as a small trash container for used gloves and towels. Everything is easy and convenient to get to in one place when dumping the tanks.
  • To the OP I assume you are re using the same gloves?
Once you use them are they not contaminated? I imagine disposable gloves would be more sanitary.

As I said in the original post-"disposable gloves" and a coffee can to use as trashcan for them
  • I have a small command strips brand hook on the inside of the door where I keep my disposable gloves along with a huge bottle of hand sanitizer. I put a plastic shopping bag from the grocery store on the hook so When I am done, if there are no trash cans around, I just toss the used gloves in the bag

I like that. YES I use gloves when I dispose of human waste! I see lots of people not using gloves, wiping the sweat off their foreheads etc. Gross. True they usually do not have garbage cans at the dump station but I dont mind the little walk which also allows me to do last minute rig check before I leave. It also takes alot less time than trying to locate the bathhouse to wash my hands.

Did you wear gloves when changing diapers? Much more exposure to waste than dumping tanks.
I do not use gloves. I'm still here to talk about it.

I not a glove user, but if the box works for you and meets your needs than it is a good idea.

  • Gloves? Why bother. I just do the deed and wash my hands with soap after I'm done and everything is stowed and move on.
  • Glad to hear you did a modification that works for you. And that's really all that matters, is that it works for YOU!

I've witnessed at dump stations folks using gloves, and then simply toss them into their basements, or a bucket, or wherever. Makes me wonder why they use gloves in the first place. If they are so concerned about getting their hands dirty, then it doesn't make any sense that everything that touches the gloves gets contaminated too. Your solution sounds like a winner!

One other thing that I sit back and laugh at with folks at dump stations that use gloves, is how many times while they have the gloves on, they touch their face! Adjusting eye glasses, wiping their brow, or simply a quick scratch. I don't think folks are even aware when doing that.

I worked at McDonalds 45 years ago when in College. My manager told me, if I ever touched my hair, or my face, to immediately go and wash my hands, if I was working prep, on the grill, or mopping a floor. He made everyone keenly conscious about cross contamination. I never forgot that and somehow it affected my behavior. I'm keenly aware whenever I touch my face or hair after 45 years.
  • Not sure why all dump stations don't have garbage cans but that's not a bad idea. My dirty gloves usually go back in storage flipped inside out.
