exterior protectant

hello, we recently purchased a new travel trailer and it has the basic low cost polyeth type accessory covers. the outlets, hose connections, most all of the white plastic exterior parts.

My question is, other than keeping it out of the weather, is there an after market product that will help keep them from degrading.

we previously owned a viking popup and it had the same type plastic covers and fixtures. over 15 years, they became extremely brittle and chalky. I never worried about it till now because the new rv is brand new.

Just curious, thanks.:C

x 100, that stuff is excellent!
  • You can paint them with white Krylon paint and they will not yellow or deteriorate for a long time. I did mine several years ago, including the frige vent (which was getting pretty bad) on the top of the trailer and everything still looks new today.

That stuff is good and will protect a lot longer than most. After "than most" just replace, usually couple of screws and new piece in. I understand trying to keep it in good shape but everything has a life span.
  • The 120 volts rectangular cover is PVC , this will stand element very well
