Contrary to quite a few of the posts on this thread, flush water is a substantial drain (pun intended) on the FW tank. If the average person uses minimal water to flush liquid waste and a bowl-full for solid waste, that is at least 2 to 3 gallons per day, per person. For just two people on a five-day stay, that could be a 20 to 30 gallon savings on the FW tank.
I like the idea of this mod and may consider doing something like it myself. Yes, you can use buckets, etc., but as the person that posted the linked mod said, the convenience is nice and sometimes you do things just because you can!
The only criticism I have of the linked mod is that if the grey pump is inadvertently turned on with the fresh water cutoff valve open, it might be possible to pump grey water into the fresh water system. I think I would incorporate a check valve between the shutoff valve and the tee.
