I did not for a few reasons:
1) the antenna uses rare earth magnets... really strong hold
2) they sell them to go on the roof of your car while driving highway speeds
3) I do not drive more than 60 and prefer byways anyway
I also intentionally put it a little bit behind the air conditioner as well so it would (hopefully) block some of the wind
