Unless there was a little crud in the extension, that Mr I've owned my own muffler shop for 40 years missed! Takes very little to cause back pressure in a 1/2" pipe!

It might be a terrible idea but it is mine and I am going to have some fun with it :) I don't golf, I don't fish, I like to play with my toys and ideas.

I am also thinking that when Honda designed this, venting it by running the exhaust through a maze was not included in their engineering:h I could be wrong?

I must be missing something - what does the design of the exhaust system have to do with whether the genset is mounted or sitting on the ground? Honda designed the EU2000i case to effectively vent out the two exhaust gases together while preventing those gases from mixing with cooling intake air so why would you want to circumvent this feature and vent out exhaust gas separately from hot cooling air, as Honda intended? Use an exhaust bezel like that offered by Generator-Line (or design your own) and you can direct these two exhaust gases out any way you want while also preventing those gases from mixing with cooling intake air. As it is now it would seem hot exhaust gas is mixing with cooling intake air, resulting in increased operating temperatures.

My Genset is mounted to my camper, I will not have the option of moving it 30 feet away, so I want to have the option of adding a venturi style exhaust. Which I know from past experience will cut down sound and fumes. Jim

A straight 1/2" pipe that's only 1' long isn't going to have any effect at all.
