Installed a True Induction double burner in our Endura MH recently. DW has had a range in S&B for several years. Also have a single burner in the MH. She loves them.Upgrade required that counter top be replaced because induction burner is wider than gas range. Also replaced plastic sink with a SS single bowl. Added a little more storage for some small items needed to cook with.Before.After.Storage.The Induction burner requires a frame work installed under counter made out of 1X2 wood. Manuals supplied by manufacture show how to make these supports. DW like

Ron, we will be changing out from a two burner electric to the same induction top you used. Our reasons are CATS, our cats sometimes jump up on the counters after we cook, to prevent them from getting burned we thought the induction top would be a good idea...

It certainly sounds like a neat thing to do here as well... Anything getting rid of the open flames in the trailers is a plus to my way of thinking.I have not done any research on Induction cooking as far as power requirements are concerned.Might not fit into any camping off the power grid schemes... I got the 2nd cooktop and extra pans thrown in.

If in doubt, I also saw them at a bed bath and beyond.

I was able to make fondue with mine, zero burning.

Our DD went in with us so we split the cost. I just wish I would have bought the cover/case for it at the same time.

Look around at local stores, I've seen the exact item sold at Kitchen Connection Outlet stores for under $100. The TV offer sounds good, but they will nail you for HUGE handling and processing costs that will be more than $100 just for shipping, effectively doubling the price of your purchase. If you don't believe me, just google it on the internet....lots of complaints about ridiculous processing and handling fees.

Why wouldn't your gen handle it? That is 2,000 watts.

The units I have seen and researched are all the same 1800 watt max so they can be used in a standard home 15amp circuit. The problem with the 1800 watt double is that you can't use both burners at over half heat. 900 watt each. Or 1 burner at full heat (1800 watts). Correct me if I'm wrong.

AFter I saw this post I went looking at specs and seems like the standard is around 1800WATT which is 15AMPS @ 120VAC... Thats a pretty good draw haha...

I really like this idea of no open flame however in the trailers...

Just thinking sometimes we fire up a gas burner for a quick warm up when we first get up. No flame would sure hamper this senerial...
