New Flooring Peel and Stick Tiles

As part of my redecoration of my trailer as I head north to Alaska I intend to replace the floor covering.

I would like to hear from any of you that have DIRECT experience with the peel and stick tiles.

Your comments and insights will be appreciated.

I do understand I will have to remove the existing Linoleum and stick the new tiles to the wood subfloor.

I am very interested in how you may have handled the area under your slide(s) ie that area where the slide operates over the tile.

Thanks in advance

  • We have had "peel & stick" 12" squares in our home kitchen for over 18yrs!! None have lifted, nor torn, or cracked. Not new anymore, but still look pretty good. They are installed on 1/4" plywood subfloor (not unlike your trailer floor), which was treated with a primer designed for adhesive flooring. I'm sure that you can find that still, esp now with what seems like a resurgence of "sticky" tiles.
  • They will not stick very well to the wood sub floor. You would be better off getting free floating vinyl plank or laminate.
