  • Yeah we got half way thru it yesterday and plan to finish it today in an hour or so. Not hard to do and there are some very good YouTube videos available which walk you thru the steps. That's good since the instructions with the fabric are not helpful.

    Best solution by far IMHO!

X3, there are some good write ups here on how to do it, and it's not rocket science. I helped a buddy replace his fabric and if you take your time, you can do it. I strongly recommend at least 3 people as the awnings are very awkward to handle and a couple pair of extra hands comes in very handy.

Over the years I have tried paint, Kool Seal roof coating, and a latex spray. The white paint looked good initially but cracked after about 3 years. The Roof Coating held up well but turned dark. The latex spray worked the best and has lasted the longest. Just spray or coat the first foot next to the MH and when rolled up will protect the rest of the awning.

  • I did mine with Bus Kote. Google it.
Worked great on roof so used it there too.
One coat of primer two coats of finish.
    Looks great. It's elastermeric.

  • Depends on the fabric, in my opinion. If it's vinyl or some other material that's designed to "resist" staining, water, and/or penetration of any kind I doubt paint or dye will adhere properly.

It might look fine when you first lay the paint on, but I'm thinkin' that the first time you roll the awning up, the paint film will roll off with it.
