Quick disconnects?

Have them on both ends of fresh water hose. when storing, just push the two ends together.

I use them. I have them installed on my 90° brass el's. Get to campsite, thread el's into place on the city water and black tank flush. Attach water hose to quick connect and done.

We use the full flow Gilmore plastic ones. Order online from Amazon. The Lowes variety, Homedepot ones didn't hold up, the metal ones either brass or plated corroded to easily. The full flow ones we are using have been in play for3 years now. Full-time, moving every 3-4 weeks.

Bought one for our city water hose recently. Scoured several hardware stores looking for a nice heavy duty looking all-brass one. Sounds like an excellent idea but my opinion:

1. You can no longer re-attach the hose ends to store away to prevent water leaking all over or keeping contamination out.

2. Depending on where you use it, the additional length is too much for the city water inlet fitting and the cantilever force pulls down too hard on the inlet fitting. Happens on ours even with one of those right angle hose fittings.

I put it into the drawer in our TT along with a few other gizmos that need a fresh look at again at some point in the future (maybe, sigh).

Funny thing I discovered looking for a brass one, is that some *look* like brass and the real thing but are actually plastic and only LOOK like brass. The weight was the giveaway. First time I've ever seen simulated brass. Only available from Ch*na of course...

I use them on all connections as well and have never had a leak. I buy them at Home Depot (or similar) and they are solid brass and leak free. I have connections on my hoses, inlet and water softener. Just hook it up and walk away.

Same experience here. I could not stand all the dripping. It was with lower water pressure that I had the worst luck with.

Quick connects on everything. Attach fitting to park connection, wye off and use quick connect to house fitting. Utility hose on other side of the wye and then extend or shorten as needed with quick connects.

I use gator cam locks on the water hoses from Tractor Supply and the cam lock sewer hose from Waste/Drain Master. MUCH easier to connect and disconnect. No leaks....no pliers. I mounted the female hose connector to a L bracket and then plumbed that semi-permanently to the hose input in the wet bay (with the pressure gauge & regulator in the line between the two). When not being used, I put a dummy male plug in it that's full of brass screen.

Use only the good solid brass ones shown.

Shut off valves are a nice addition. There have been times when we need to shut the water off in a hurry. They are kept on the end of the fill hose as well to allow us to blow out the water line before hooking the hose to the RV. A shut off valve on either side of the water filter keeps us from having to drain it each time. For longer storage times, we open the filter holder and let it dry out to prevent mold growth.

X2 on using them on everything. Hose, inlet water connector, external filter, short extension with Y-adapter. Short extension goes on inlet connector with Y-valves closed for travel and/or storage. Gets flushed when connected to water supply, before adding hose or filter. Buy good quality brass ones. Cheap will break or leak. Change o_rings yearly. Only exception is tank wash hose. Special hose for that only.
