replacing rubber roof with alum

I've never seen it but, no doubt someone has replaced rubber with aluminum. I think it would make a good roof.
The only problem I can see is bending the the aluminum to fit curves on the roof, some Will be easy and some not so easy.
But, maybe it's easier than I thought?
