Rubber roof replacement

punctured the roof on Thursday, Rained like heck on Friday, got water in the coach. (I covered with tarps) I patched (on Sunday after two days of sun) the 7 obvious holes with Eternabond and caulk. Rained like heck again (following Saturday), and got some water in the coach again thru the heat/air return ducts. No idea where it came in. Resorted to insurance claim. (ins adjuster and repair shop both liked the patch job).

They replaced a small section of the roof deck, and then double decked it (std practice apparently, both repair shops). No sign of water in the roof structure, insulation, or ceiling panels.
Only replace membrane, no patching allowed.

If the edge seals are still intact, I would glue back down what you can, and patch in pieces to fill the area where the rubber has been torn away. Glue down the patches and use Eternabond to seal between the patch and the original roof.

I would (and do!) do a lot of patching/fixing before replacing my entire roof, since it would cost more than the whole trailer is worth in my case!

This stuff is not rocket science, it's just rubber and glue... fancy expensive glue, but still. :)

replace the rubber roof with something permanent and like rhino lining.

Our former 5th wheel was a SunnyBrook Titan toy hauler and we had to replace the roof after 4 years. The cost was around $7k for a. 40 foot roof. It was not damaged by Improper washing nor was it damaged by a tree branch. It just started coming up. We had it replaced and after 3 years, we again had the big bubble in front. This time, we just had it repaired. The loose part was pulled up and reglued. The repair lasted as long as we owned it. We would not get another rubber roof. We will look for other options. That 12 year warranty on the roof is just for the roofing material. If it is not defective but still rips and bubbles, the cost is on you.

And they are near Jacksonville, FL. Not too far from Georgia.

Before I would spend $4000 to $7000 for a new rubber roof I would just re glue the rip back to the roof, get a piece a little larger of the rip and glue it over the top of the rip and caulk it real good, can't see why it wouldn't work and no one can see it from the ground.

Look at a spray on bed liner. At least one high end manufacturer is offering it as an option on their trailers.

Thanks for all the comments. I have wondered about the spray on liner material.
If anyone has experience with it I would sure like to know.
