Replacing vinyl graphics on our RV???

The vinyl graphics on the front cap of our 2009 KZ Spree 265RL are shot. :p The good folks at KZ have agreed to send me a new set of graphics at NO CHARGE. :C Now, my question is how do I get the old, skuzzy decals off and then apply the new???:h Has anyone here gone through this procedure?:@

Here's a sample of my old graphics::E

  • When I had my decals replace on my sailboat, the guy used a wheel in a drill. The "wheel" was like a round very dense rubber material. He took off the decals in no time at all and with no damage to the hull. Any place that does graphics for vehicles will have this and should know how to remove them as well as replace them. Here's the guy I used: http://www.thesigndude.com/
  • I used a heat gun on low setting and also used up two 3M wheels to remove all of the decals on my unit. It is a slow, tedious process, but works well with a little patience. I used Goof-Off to clean up any glue residue. You might want to test the Goof-Off in a hidden area to make sure it doesn't damage your finish. I then tried to put the front decal on myself, and I failed. It takes two people to do it right, plus you're off the ground and trying to do several things at once.
  • don't use a heat gun, they get too hot. use your wife's hair dryer. heat the graphic and pull off slowly with you fingers
  • It's been discussed previously. Search this Forum for `graphics' then search the results for `remove' and read on. I bought the wheel discussed but haven't tried it yet.
